about Focus on foundations for lifelong learning

At Cricket Tutors, we believe that every child can succeed when they get the support they need.

A student with braces points at himself. He is proudly showing off his accomplishment. On the table in front of him, there is a laminated blue sheet of paper with red and orange rectangles on top.
A student wearing a longsleeve shirt sits at a desk surrounded by crayons and books. He grips a purple pencil in his right hand and looks down at his work intently. Sunlight streams in through the windows and adds a "filter"-like effect to the photo.

Our Story

After 13 years in general and special education classrooms, CEO Heidi Edwards knew how often students with learning difficulties were being overlooked.

She started Cricket Tutors in 2020 to focus on creating meaningful learning experiences that promote long-term growth, both in and out of the classroom.

Our Name

Why are we called Cricket Tutors?

1. Family first.
Heidi grew up with the nickname and wanted to incorporate it into the business to honor her family’s support.

She wanted to send the message that — whether at home, school, or with Cricket Tutors — every child can succeed when they get the support they need.

Cricket Tutors is dedicated to the whole child. We also offer a Parent Support Group to teach stress management tools and take care of families' mental health and wellbeing.

A student with headphones and a tablet in one hand is holding their left hand out to a pony on a farm. The student is wearing a red and white T-shirt, blue shorts, and white shoes.

2. Leap into learning. Just like crickets, our tutors hop from house to house to bring a love of learning straight to your door (or screen).

Say goodbye to busy work! We believe in interactive lessons, games, and field trips.

3. Heart for all. Many cultures around the world associate crickets with courage and wisdom. We want our students to reflect the same.
